About Me – Goliath of Gath – one of the last of a vanishing breed of giants. I’m large and in charge. There is no man, heck, there is no army that doesn’t fear me. My towering height and hulking muscles make me a god among mere men.

Blog Excerpts

Entry #1 – Day 20

I’m getting bored waiting for the Israelites to send a man to fight me. It’s been 20 days since I issued by challenge. Cowards – every last one of them. Bet there’s not one champion among the whole lot of them.

Entry #2 – Day 28

They’re probably on their knees praying to that ‘one true’ god of theirs. Ha! My strength is all-powerful! Even gods tremble in my presence! If this so-called god can defeat me, bring him on!

Entry #3 – Day 34

Even if my impressive physique wasn’t intimidating enough, I’ve got some major armor. Actually I’m getting pretty tired of putting on my bronze helmet and coat of armor just to turn around and take it all off again. Every day and night, I go out there and issue the same challenge and every morning, the Hebrews cower in fear.

Entry #4 – Day 39

Part of me wishes they’d just give up, but a bigger part of me is just dying for a fight. I can’t way to run someone through with my spear because I know that’s what’s going to happen. I mean, there’s no possible way anyone can defeat my strength!

Don’t you just love dramatic irony?

Once upon a time there was a young woman who graduated cum laude from university. For years she despaired of ever using her English degree. Then I gave her the direction she needed and now she writes for me - her father so heavenly.

  1. Interesting way to do the challenge. I agree it would have been interesting to see the thoughts of biblical characters written down.
